Wiring harness...what do I need?

96 cummins almost ready to drop into my 1988 F-250. What do I need from the dodge wiring harness to make this beast actually run? I don't need anything on the dash to hook up and run as its all aftermarket guages (isspro)



Its a race only project and not a street truck. so I don't have any a/c,heat,radio etc. . Just need headlights,tail lights and for the engine to turn on and off

Wiring harness ....what do i need?

All you need is a hot wire to the fuel sylenoid then your starter wires , then use your alternator wires ,and a 70's mopar voltage regulator wires in on the feild wires of the alt and your set

You need to get yourself a wiring diagram for the year you specified. I thoght all i needed was to run 12v to one of the pins on the shut off solenoid and $200. 00 and a room full of smoke (due to solenoid burnign up) later the mistake was realized that their are 2 possitive connections on the solenoid (1) that opens it and (1) that holds it open. The one that opens it gets 12v when u turn the key and the one that holds it open gets power i believe at the same time or right after you let the key go into notmal running position but im not sure at this moment. All i do know is if you mix them up you have a melted solenoid and a $200. 00 bill. Any questions shoot me a p. m. .
