Has anyone used the wiring in the overhead counsel to wire in the dash-cam. What would the pros-cons be? I know that a number of folks have done this with the 1500 Eco Diesel. I assume the wiring would be the same in the 2500 & 3500.

I added a Painless Wiring fused block for my aftermarket accessories. I build a custom headache racks with brake/turn/backup light for my trucks and this was the first time I was scared to death about tapping into the wiring. I tapped into the trailer towing harness at the far end of the trucks to make the lights work and even then, I didn't feel comfortable.*

I ran the wire supplied with the dash cam down the left a-pillar. Opened up the center stack and spliced an extra aux outlet into the dash aux outlet. Plugged the dash cam power supply and hid it up under the dash. I have been switching to the Viofo A118C from Gearbest in all my vehicles. Next project is to install one in the back window.
