wiring my auto meter gages,... help

i just got my AUTO METER PHANTOM gauges and i got everything done,

exhaust manifold drilled and tapped also my intake manifold drilled and tapped

lighting wires done, my question is-- there is three gauges , boost ,pyro,trans temp. trans temp has three wires 12v+, negative, and sender wire . pyro has two wires 12v+ and negative do i connect the two 12v+ wires together and then tap into the lighter switch or wher else , also

the negative wires can i connect them together what do you think? any imput would be greatly appreciated .

EM, if I'm not mistaken, the two wires coming off the pyro just connect to the thermocouple itself, (red and yellow i believe). I will look around some and see if I still have my instructions or not, yours didn't come with instructions ?

yes it did, you are right thats for the thermocouple but i am talking about the

12v+ and negative wires .

OK, let me try to think here what I used. You should be OK tapping into the lighter circuit, just be careful if you keep adding things to it. I used an auxiliary fuse block to hook up several items, mounted it under the knee bolster. And just connect trhe two grounds and find a suitable place to use, think I used an existing ground connection under the bolster toward the center of the instrument panel, hope this helps!

You should take the 12v+ from the trans temp and tie it into the ignition fuse in your fuse box. The 12v+ on the pyro should be connected directly to a constant 12v power source. That way the pyro will work with the truck shut off. The black ground wires can be tied together and then to a good ground source. I hope this helps.

Question for Smokin Monster,

what would be the benefit of having the pyro on when the truck is off and will it not take its toll on wearing down the batteries? Just curious.

I don't have autometer gauges in mine, but it sounds like he is talking about the gauges lighting wires. If they are for the gauges lights you need to tap into the headlight switch for the panel lights so they will dim with your dimmer switch, the neg wire you would just run to a ground.

6 poles on the back of the autometer pyrometer. 2x for the pyrometer leads, 2x ground, 1x 12v switched power for the gauge, 1x switched dimmer power for the light
