Wiring Struggle==Not a wiring genius

All I have is Haynes, hard to read. Does anyone have a schematic on 91 one ton wiring, Emergency Flashers. Usually on chassis wiring diagram. Trying to figure out where to splice in for relay to supply sererate power to the trailer lites. Presently have clearance wired sererate w/relay. When I pull over and turn on the flashers the trailer overloads and blows the fuse.

I am willing to run new wire front to back to the plug, but where exactly to tie in. If I put the relay after the flasher, then the relay becomes a second in series flasher, is that a good plan ? I am OK w/wiring of relay itself. Just need to pull the signal tap at the right place. If the finished product also includes the brake lites and turn signals, great. Thanks... . R C

On a big truck it was doing the same thing and I wired in a relay for the left and the right. They come out of the turnsignal switch seperate so where they come out I put a relay and the wires from the signal switch was the trigger. It takes all of the load off the stock system other than to trip the relay and that is nothing. Out of the relay you can use the stock wires to the rear or run new ones. Mike

Thanks for the help Mike. That is exactly what I did and it worked out great. I did run new wire to the rear of the truck. R C
