Kentucky Diesel Truck Round-up Dyno & Show And Shine

Oct. Breakfast (GLTDR)

Steve, normally 294 around Chicago is the best route during high traffic times, but the problem is getting to 294. That stretch of east/west 80/94 from Indiana to where 294 starts heading north is usually a bad one for traffic jams. I take I-90 the Skyway when I come home from Indy on a Sunday afternoon because it is a little quicker, but that takes you straight thru the city. Your best bet is to get a report from an east bound trucker if you have a CB.

Don’t forget to bring some warm clothes. The temperature is expected to be in the 50’s, but dry. There should be more than enough fun to keep everyone warm though! :D

See you there,

Warm clothes? Steve? He'll be wearin' shorts and a t-shirt, and he might even take the t-shirt off if the sun is shinin'! :) :)

Given the frequency of accidents and jams on 80-90, *I'd* rather go right through Windy towing a condo. Get across the Skyway, get onto 90-94, move into the second lane and stay there. Then just follow 94 to WI.

Too bad Steve doesn't have dual exhaust pipes. Turn on the box, put it in 5th and floor it. Smoke'd be so thick, traffic beside and behind him would slow down, leaving *plenty* of room to change lanes to either side. :D (But then, at higher speeds, a turbo snuffer might be needed to limit air flow. )

WOW! What a blast. Bong State Park was beautiful. I came in second at the Dragaway on Saturday. I overslept and missed the open house at Huckstorfs which kinda bummed me out. The ride home was more enjoyable than Fri night at rush hour on 294. Nice seeing a lot of you guys again and some of you for the first time. Take care all and Wisconsin rocks. Kirk

I really wanted to get over there but I had a wedding to attend Saturday! ARG! I was hoping to see what kinda bombs people are doing on their 03's and how they ran.

I went to the Dragaway Thursday night to make up for it. Ran my truck a whole bunch of times and I'm a bit disappointed in my driving

I had a good time also

First off, I'd like to thank Huckstorf's for opening up their shop and sponsoring the drags. I learned a few things(like I did last year)while visiting their shop. They had a nice 12 cylinder bosch inline pump torn apart to look at, along with a VE pump and some Powerstroke injectors(among other things). It was great seeing everyone again and watching some neat vehicles drag racing. Like the 11 second CJ-7 that was doing some nice wheelies:eek:  . Congratulations on taking 2nd Kirk. The winner would have been hard to beat.

I'll second the thanks to Huckstorf for there open shop again, it was nice to see every one again and see some fast trucks and crazy gassers drag race. Congrats to all the Winners also.

Thanks to everyone for showing up! Let me know if you have any ideas on how to make it better for next year. For the first time, I think the event was a success.

Thanks to Mark and John Huckstorf for having us again. We appreciate you taking the time (which isn't cheap) to be such gracious hosts. :)

It was good to see everyone again - and meet some new guys.
