No more dropping tools into the twilight zone between the radiator and intercooler. Quality product too. Powder coated and everything. I believe they come in red, white and blue. How american!



I saw someone with one at a dyno day and wanted one bad so I found out who makes em and now I have one too.



Turns out that Geno's now carries them. It's in their new catalog. If your just getting the bombing bug get one of these first and save yourself a lot of grief.

Other colors are available. It is a work truck. The dash board is my filing cabinet.



Heyboss, That's about it. Possibly a larger turbo down the road. Waiting on spool up rpeports to see if it's worth switching. EGT's are in check but a little added horsies wouldn't be bad.

Garrett, I'm thinking about getting an exaust blanket. I could just make out yours and did you cut it for your exaust probe? I want one but I don't want it to look hacked up because I cute a hole in it. Did you have to cut it and does it look OK?

To answer the questions.......

JT, The blanket comes with a hole for the exhaust probe. I did some temperature tests with it and it seemed to help a little. More for looks than anything.



GFoley, Yes that's the BHAF. It shaved 50° off my EGT's but when I installed it I only had the EZ box. Now with the DD2's it helps keep the EGT's in check. Don't know how much it will drop your but for the price it's worth a try. I added a piece of 4" ABS and a clamp to add the stock minder to it.

I imagine that the radiators are the same. And thats what it bolts to. There are 4 bolts for holding the battery cable across the top. Then you don't have the second battery so it might not. Call Geno's and find out.

which filter are you using for the BHAF?

Also, The picture you posted gives the impression that the filter sticks up higher than the edge of the engine compartment and the close up seems to show where the pleats of the filter have been compressed by the hood??? Am I seeing this right and if so is it creating any problems for you?

I have lots of questions for you as you and I have the same trucks minus the utility bed.

No problem.....

It sticks up higher than the edge of the hood. Theres plenty of room once the hood curves upward. The hood insulation just touches it holding it in place nicely. The lines you see in the pic are just how the pleats are. They are not perfectly in a row.



Fleetgard AH19037 is the one I have.

My Mallory mount should be on the way shortly, I'm gonna go with the Fleetguard filter. Did you have to order it from Cummins or are they available at the local auto parts store? ( Like your idea for adding the filter minder )

Is your differential ratio the reason you went with the DTT 89% convertor as opposed to the 91%? I have 4. 10's and "think" I want to go with the 91%.

I see that Bill has a package that includes the TC, VB, Edge EZ and DDII's - You have the same basic package - what do you think of it?

I am trying to convince myself to make a trip up north this July and get "bombed"

Exhaust blanket - Did you get it from Geno's? Their web site says it won't fit a California truck????

Sorry for all the rookie questions, this truck is my first diesel.

I'm just now trying to decide what I want to do to it.

Since you have a california truck 89% is the only way to go.

I am 99% sure that is what we are going to do. I really want the DTT upgrades. Is there a specific reason that CA trucks should go with the 89% TC?

The get together in Portland on the 15th will fit in our travel schedule - If you can tell me wher and when I'll be certain to try and make it over. I would enjoy meeting some of the NW Bombers - I have been very impressed with their willingness to help each other out and answer stupid questions from newby's like me!

Mine's a cal truck..........

The exhaust blanket fits fine. Though the heat shield from Mallory will probably give you better results. The blanket is more for looks than anything. At least that's what I found out measuring the heat under the hood.



I went with the 89% converter because of the weight of my truck. I'm toting 10K of weight everyday. The turbo lag is more pronounced now. I imagine with the 91 it would be even more so. I would talk to Bill about how you drive and what your intentions are for the truck. He will advise you on which way to go. Be advised because of the California PCM the transmission mods will probably set an engine code. Something to do with when it wants to see lock up. You can get a federal PCM for $$$ and it will stop that.



The DD2's an EZ are a great combo. Great power and EGT's are in check. Can't ask for more than that. Though some do.



I ordered my filter through a local truck shop. Most of the store that handle bigger rigs will be able to get it for you for cheaper. NAPA seems to charge whatever they feel like.
