RMcKinney here with a 1995 SLT 2500 Automatic that has 260000 miles,K&N airfilter and Heavy duty Torque converter. thats all of the mods

I will be pulling a 5200 LB Travel trailer this summer.

I have a # 10 TST plate I ready to put in and was wondering the preformance between a #8 to #10 Plate. Thanks for your Time and Help RMcKinney

Well first off get rid of that K&N. They let too much particulate by. Will tear up the turbo blades. Best to get a BHAF (search it here).

Do you have gauges at all? With -any- mods, particularly a plate, you definitely need at the very least an EGT gauge. Any other mods to the transmission other than the converter? A VB upgrade would be a good idea.

I run a #100 plate myself, its a #10 with a cut off top end, which gives lots of fuel on high rpms. Runs real nice, but I dont tow, just haul crap in the bed.

If your feeling sluggish, you may need to adjust your star wheel a little. I adjusted it until it smoked, and backed it off a bit. It made a big difference with my #6 plate. With my moderate modifications, it works great. Good luck.

Gauges from Genos:EGT-Trans Temp and Boost on the column at the Drives door.

The Air Filter will be changed. Thanks for you rHelp. RMcKinney
