Exhaust Manifold

Lost my head gasket today. HELP!

Per this bulletin from WIX Filters... their filter is good to go in 24V applications. I know there is sometimes talk of lesser filters which can rupture due to surges. This at least lets me know WIX acknowledges the situation and believes in their product. Also sold as Napa Gold.

If in doubt use Fleetguard... but if you can get Napa or Wix... they will work fine too.

There were some issues with the WIX and a few other filters when the ISB first hit the scene, but WIX quickly addressed the issue, and it AIN'T an issue any more, unless you manage to get an early WIX filter that's been sitting on a shelf or in storage for a few years... ;) :D

Wix also makes 2 fluted versions of the 51607 filter. One is p/n 57620, with a paper element for the 03 and up trucks for easy removal. The other is p/n 57620XE with paper/glass element which is also fluted. I found these in the Wix website. :)

I use the NAPA Gold filters all the time, no problems at all...

We have 4 FleetPride stores in the state as well as a Cummins repair shop, they NEVER stock the filters for these trucks!

I order the 4+2+1 kit from Geno's, pitch the air filter element on the corner of the workbench and still come out ahead.

No doubt on the Genos Kits. I just bought a oil filter for my 7. 3 Excursion from the cummins shop in town for $25. Genos has the same filter for $17. 50.

you can order the 4-2-1 minus the 1 factory air filter from genos too [so you just get the 4 lube oil & 2 fuel oil filters]

Might try your local JohnDeere dealer(if there's one close to you way up there). I've been getting my fleetguard oil filters for about $7

I tried Napa Gold filters once, but after holding one side-by-side with a Stratapore and saw how much bigger the oil return holes were that sold me on Fleetguard.
