Hey guys i need your suggestions, i cant find any fleetguard filters in my home town. I normaly order from genos and have them but i ran out. Are these wixs ok to use for a one time filter untill i can get some fleetguards. The counter guy at the auto parts saids he sells a lot of these to guys with 24valve but he is trying to sell filters. :( HELP

You'll get a lot of different comments on that question, but in my opinion Wix makes a good filter. Me and my dad have used them on 6 different CTD's and all of our tractors here on the farm. Not to mention that everyone I know that has a Dodge Cummins use them. Never any problem with them or any engine related troubles. I have switched over to Fleetgaurd #3894's since joining the TDR but would still use Wix if I couldn't get Fleetgaurd. Do a search, there is a lot of info on this subject.

Good luck,

Doug

Personally, I wouldnt use Wix for my Cummins Diesel.

If you cant find Fleetguard in your town, I would suggest making

a trip to your local Dodge stealer (the mopars are manufactured by fleetguard).

Good luck!

Wix Filters

Thanks guys for your opinons i bought one and just finished the oil change. I have been so busy latey that i and going to order another kit from genos, oil-fuel-air-filters. The parts guy said that he does sell a lot of these Napa Gold filters WIX in this part of the country for these CTD 24v. Well at least i got one of my chores done now i have only 7 left to do today. Have a good day. :D

I used a Wix once back in 97 or so after I started doing my own oil changes. I tried it because the Napa guy said that's what all the BIG trucks use... a week later I noticed some drips on the driveway and when I checked to see if I tightened the filter all the way I felt something sharp around the top edge of the filter. After further inspection... and removal it turns out the filter had cracked about 1 inch long around the top of the filter where it is crimped during manufacturing. I know this is probably just a freak thing but I will NEVER use wix again on a CTD. Stick with what Cummins reccommends... Fleetgaurd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ed3
