not that my truck will be near as powerful as some of the built truck here but, I haven't seen too much said about " motor mounts "

Do the factory mounts hold up to lots of torque ? Are they a weak point in the motor ?

I also haven't seen a lot about transfer cases. Do they require upgrading along with the typical upgrade for the transmission when producing high HP ?

gezzz 61 views and not one answer. Didn't think my questions were that difficult. Well, I found out about the transfer case... . and I'll assume motor mounts are pretty sturdy.

thank for all the help.

I havn't heard of many issues with the motor mounts when upgrading the power, but in general, when you increase the engine power/torque, your going to increase the probability of longivity with the drive train components.

i think it depends on what you want to do with the truck... . drag racing or sled pulling is hard on parts... but there are lots of people out there 600+hp with stock drive trian, other then the trans.

converters and trans are the big weak link in our trucks

I've great luck so far with my stock driveline except for the transmission and converter - Scott's right about the serious weak link there. I full intend on putting new mounts in when the new engine goes back in.

thanks for the replies guys. Apparently they built the mounts pretty good on 3/4 and 1 tons.

I was thinking for HP in the 600 range and how well the mounts held up there. I would think dragging or pulling would take there toll eventually on all driveline parts but, since most motor mounts are rubber ( never looked at my truck to see if the 1 tons are rubber ) I was thinking that would be one of the first things to go.
