Stopped at truck stop to fill up after several hours of driving in some nasty blowing snow. Jumped back in to leave and truck does nothing. We towed it to my friends work and found out the starter solenoid in the distibution block doesn't have a ground. We figured out that that ground comes from the park/neutral switch on the transmission. that switch works. Is there another switch inbetween the transmission and the solenoid? We cant figure it out.

Its an 01 auto. We jumped a ground to the solenoid to get it started so we know everything else in the system works.

Dont mean to make it too simple. . but just making sure you checked the fuse? I went to the ATM one night, went and hopped in the truck... no start. . checked all the plugs, switches... then found it was just the dang fuse... (later tossed in LarryBs contacts)

I have power to all the right terminals at the relay except i have no ground connection from the neutral/ park safety switch. Right now i have a jumper running from the blower relay ground to the starter relay ground and i can start it. But i can start it in any gear, its fine for me but im nervous about other people driving my truck like that.

I had a bad neutral safety switch on a 94 gasser... just had to have it adjusted or replaced, dont remember which... was a freshly rebuilt transmission, so just had the shop fix it at their cost.

The ground wire from the neutral safety switch should go directly to the starter relay in the PDC(power distribution center),

Are you getting a ground from the wire going to the neutral safety switch? You should jump the connector to neutral safety switch to rule out broken wires or bad connections.

If theres no other switch between the neutral safety switch and the starter relay then I must have a broken wire. I have the ground signal coming out of the neutral switch but thats where I loose it. I'll have to start tearing into the wiring harness then.

Thank you everybody for your help.
