Help. My truck is dead in the driveway. No codes. Won't run. Stumbles and stalls, barely runs then conks out. I know I'm due for regent cleaning but truck is dead....any help appreciated
 
When was the last time you replaced the fuel filter?
Also when did you fuel up last; at the same station? The fuel filter could be plugged also just another area to look at.
 
Thanks will start there . Got 352k on my 99 only issue was one injection pump . The 6.7 sits in the driveway most of the time only drive it on weekends.....
 
no change, FCA disconnect , changed fuel filter.........engine starts rpm's jump between 900-1800 runs for 3 -4 seconds shaking, stumbling then quits....again no codes at all
 
well I deleted everything and fired it up last night, idles only, when I touch the accelerator it will only jump up about 100 rpms and then starts dumping huge amounts of black smoke, if I hold the pedal down it only continues to dump thick black smoke, had the smarty set on level 1+timing, undid the smarty, same symptons, threw engine code P0607, (yes researched already) reinstalled the smarty same sympton, truck has 67k miles, everything out egr dpf butterfly, ccv, sounds different obviously with clear exhuast pipe but can't get it past 600-700 rpms.....ideas, I really don't want to drop $ on ECU especially since I did not have this code until deletes.....
 
Did you download the programmer before delete? Unhooked egr valve and throttle valve? Pulled the spring and valve inside the egr valve ontop of the intake horn (cant think of the name right now) but left the electrical connector plugged in?

Just tryng to figure out the simple stuff.
 
I installed programmer after the delete. Last thing I installed. The Egr is gone with a block off plate, installed straight tube in place of butterfly valve. Nothing plugged in as there is nothing to plug into.....
 
The right way is to download the delete tune into the pickup, then do the deletes but I dont think that would be the problem. Did you try to clear codes? Try a different tune in your smarty. I need to look into that code because its very uncommon
 
Ok guys. I went thru all the powers levels. Started at zero and went up....got to level four (no timing) . Truck runs perfect...... Took it out for a ride, trucks better then new..... turbo spools up super fast. Any ideas on safe boost level ?? I'm running Edge Monitor .

If you are not using head studs than I would never go above CaTCHER Level 3 on your Smarty. This adds about 60HP and 120LB-FT of torque to the engine output. The odd numbers are for non stacking so you should be using the odd numbers in the CaTCHER levels if you do not stack another programmer like an MP8.

You will normally see between 30 and 35PSI boost pressure and EGT's will be around 800 top 900F if you get on it.

I have had my Smarty installed since 09 and I am now on 23ME set at CaTCHER level 3 since 2010. I tow with this level and I do not use head studs but I do watch my boost pressure and try to keep this under 30 PSI most of the time.
