My 06 3500 wouldn't stay running yesterday. It would crank and start easily as usual then die a couple seconds later. After doing this several times it finally wouldn't start at all. The first thing I checked was the filter and drained for water no gell or water. I drained about . 5 gallons using the tank pum so it was working OK. The engine light was flashing ten times the just stayed on. After about 20 minutes it started and hasen't given me any trouble since. Perkins Dodge here in Colorado Springs replaced the valve cover the day before for some kinda vent problem and a BAD oil leak. It started several times just fine that afternoon.

How do you check codes on a 3500 06 6spd?? Isin't htere a way to check the hours and codes on the odometer read out??

elec?

my truck did this last spring . i was welding a new bed for a few weeks. with the batt unhooked. i had them hooked up and off 5or6 times. the truck would not start. i tried 10 times or so. no codes. the check light was on. next morning started, been fine since. who knows with these trucks. but if i have a problem, i unhook the batt first. kp:cool:

Cycle the ignition 3 times and leave it in the run position after you turn the key on the third time. If there are any DTC's they will flash in the odometer window.
