I have 2003; 3500 70,000 miles and twice now when the temp. is below 30 degrees and not pluged in it does not start. I had it towed to Dodge they said nothing is wrong, that it started fine for them. It takes several turn overs (5-6 seconds) before it will start normaly. What could it be?

do you see your courtesy light dimming when the grid heater kicks on?? You can hear the solenoid click at the same time

I read several things into your statement... ...

You say it won't start when cold and later you say it turns over for 5 or 6 seconds before it starts.....

If your saying that it takes longer to start cold when its not plugged in..... that is you crank it for 5 or 6 seconds and than it starts... . I agree with p-bar..... look for your grid heater to kick on... and all these trucks take longer to fire when cold... .

If your saying it doesn't start and you have to crank it several times, or it will not start at all until its plugged in... than you could have several items not sending information to the computer..... and my next question is if your out of the engine 100K mile warranty... .
