won't start

I went out the other morning and cranked my 06 5.9 to let it warm up as always went back inside and a few minutes later I heard it go dead. No when I turn the key to the on position the engine light on the dash flashes and I can hear a ticking noise at the injection pump. Anyone have an idea what it could be?

Something in the ignition system or the ECM.

I tried reading the codes with my superchip programmer but all it would say is, can not detect ignition on.

Ok, I ran the codes and it read P2509 any ideas on what this might be.

ECM/PCM Power input signal intermittent. Check your battery cables and grounds.

Thanks for all the information, I just got through checking out the battery connections, one of the batteries was bad I replaced it but it still does the same thing. Tomorrow afternoon I'll start checking out all the connections elsewhere besides just the batteries.

Be sure to check the small gage wire that screws onto the side of the fuse block/ FCM, that caused me grief more then once. Take it off and scrub clean and coat with some dielectric grease as well. On these trucks, batteries should always be replaced as a set .

When one battery is bad you always replace both. They need to be equal strength.
