Just changed lift pump to frame with new lines & fittings. I let the lp cycle several times, Manuel fuel pressure guage came up to 15-16 lbs, could not get it to fire off. Thanks in advance Al

You most likely have air in you're injector lines. loosen nut on each injector line and crank till fuel begins coming out and then tighten each on back up. It may run rough for a few seconds after it fires, but it should clear up after remaining air is removed. . Be very careful while doing this, beacause diesel under high pressure can be forced though your skin, which asn't a good thing... Hope this helps

I haven't had to do it myself, but in another post I was reading the other day it was recommended to do this procedure, but ONY on the easy to reach cylinders ( I forget which ones). That was enough to get it running.

Get a 19mm or 3/4" box wrench. Loosen, but do not entirely de-thread the injector line on the right side of the valve cover. Loosten the first, 3rd and 4th line.

Crank and floor the engine. Fuel will start to fly out all over the inside of the engine compartment. The truck will start on the other 3 cylinders.

At this point, you might want to stop the engine, I never do, and begin to tighten the loostened lines. If you leave the engine running, do not put your hand near the injector lines. Use the wrench to tighten the lines. BE CAREFUL YOU DO NOT GET SUCKED INTO THE FAN! As you tighten the lines, the engine will begin to sound more like normal as more of the cylinders begin to fire. Once you get all 6 tight, the engine should sound and run fine.

At this point, wash the spilled fuel off the engine and you are done.

I have done injector changes several times you don't need to bleed the lines. Just bump the starter to cylce it for 30 seconds maybe 2-3 times, but once is plenty. Then just crank it while holding throttle on floor as soon as it fires let off the throttle. It will idlle rough for a few seconds then crack the throttle and it will smooth out. I hope your vp 44 isn't dead like mine was.

I agree with BigStick. . I've done a few injector and lift pump changes and all I've done is bump the starter a couple of times and then hold it wide open til it starts, it's never taken very long. Like he said it'll idle rough for a bit, but once all the air gets out it'll be fine.
