I went for a road trip this Am about 60 miles stopped at my dads for a few went to leave started the truck then it ran for about 5 min then quit so I restarted it would run then quit after a few seconds well its below freezing here so I asummed it was fuel line freeze up so I dump some 911 in it kept trying then after an hour it finally stayed running for about 10 min so I left and not a mile down the road It quit again I can hear the pump prime when I turn the key and it will fire for a few seconds and quit Seem the more I turn key on and off the longer it runs... Is my pump going or do u think its a icing problem... ... trucks along side the road still I have to go get it and needed some advice its an 04... ... .

How cold?

Did you dump the 911 in the tank only, or did you also remove the filter lid and pour some into the fuel filter cannister?

It could be that the low temps and thicker fuel are causing a weak lift pump to become erratic, as the earlier poster is saying...

Any codes?

Mark

no codes and i had the filter out and fuel looked normal no ice etc..... its 28*

I was switching the ign on and off this code popped up : P0628 Fuel Pump Relay Control Circuit Low Voltage where to from there

Well at this point Im assuming its a lift pump is shot so now what its Sunday nobody open in Michigan that has one ,from the looks of things its a OEM only pump..... So any one know how much a OEM versas a Glacier or FASS system is and who would be the fastest so I can get my truck back.....

Don't know if it is pertinent to your problem but Josh Peters wrote a post in General Diesel topics that could be enlightening. it is: Fuel Issues in the Upper Midwest!

If you are still under warranty you should be able to get the in tank lift pump. They did that for my 03 and there has been no problems since. A GOOD dealer will help you out.
