how many cords are in 2 TriAxle log truck loads? At my buddies, place last weekend, we cut, split and stacked it all... now he has a 2 car garage and 14x25' of firewood stacked 7' high and probably another 3 pickup truck loads outside...

OH! NO! a freaking story problem... . yeeeshh  :( :-laf

I would say 19. 14 cords in the stack. Plus, ... . it depends on how high in the 3 pickups. For the sake of argument we will say an additional 2. 25 cords in the pickups - assuming they were round stacked to 3' high.

Okay klenger, it's time for a spreadsheet. :-laf

Hey, DM

Hows this? First Fire of the year Oo. I ain't never made soup on the stove top though. Just hot H2O :)

When the temps drop too low for your stove over in Perry Co. , you are welcome to drive East a bit to Ashland Co.

I (mostly) burn block wood from the saw mill. No stacking/splitting/cutting/hauling, etc. etc. etc. I do cut some firewood with the Stihl.

Yowsire!!

Greenleaf your pics remind me of some of the benies of wood - great place to get stuff dried out after a days "play", water is always hot, I use a tie wire suspended from the ceiling from those plant hanger hooks instead of a clothes drier, and my border collies think it is pretty sweet in the winter too! :)

PS: where did you get the cat throw rug... or is that a new fangled glove drier??? :D

Took them about 3 weeks (and weekends) of nightly cutting/splitting and the mom hauling it to the house... They have 13 acres of which 9 is timber. I would guestimate they only cut about 20 trees if that. It is actually good they have started "trimming/thinning" it out, will promote new growth. Hardly can tell they cut anything actually.

They also have a log splitter which they never had before... well, I guess they did, but I moved away from home :D . I kept teasing mom that she was going to log splitter arm from running the hydraulic's control lever!

When they had the furnace, they would burn about 9 cords a year... have extra around so you have dry seasoned stuff for the start of the next burning season AND extra if you have one of those "extended" winters.
