Friends,

I put on the brisket this morning. Expect 10 to 14 hours cooking time.

I like the brisket on top rack...even though pellet grills are basically convection smokers, there is more heat at the bottom than the top. when cooking two briskets, I rotate them about halfway done. I'll add more pics along the way.

Wayne! Where's the grill? I'm lazy and sore today, so didn't look back through the posts...but my super memory (???) recalls you mentioning should you get the larger one... according to man rulz, bigger, faster, taller, longer, moer powerful is better.

Cheers, Ron

Well Ron the $ gap between the two sizes it substantial and I got pulled in a few directions so far this week. I got on Tractor Supply to restock on some carhartt Tees (2 for $25) and I was looking at their grills and they have “Z grille”? They’re about 1/2 the price of the nice ones but no WiFi or extra probes. I think the small rec tec is tilting the scale.
The other direction I was pulled in was that since the weather is coming around, and I’m home on staycation, I gotta work on my truck. Yesterday I put the water pump in and I think today I’m taking the seat frame out to change the front tilt motor, and paint the frame/ legs.

You know there's a rebuild kit for the motor...its usually the gears that have stripped and frozen.

Good luck picking out the grill.

Happy cooking, Ron

Well my Friends, I must say the brisket is delicious. We'll have about 8 meals of this. Sliced it up, had coleslaw and the last of Easters collards.
