Are you talking about posi for the rear our a locker? If posi what are you putting in the rear,if locker I didnt know the made one yet??

$500 for the install??? What else did this include??? I hope they did a lube job on your rear end! :D Just teasing. Did you really pay that much for the installation of the Chase kit?

I'm hoping to have my kit by this weekend, and I'll install it myself. I want to get it installed asap, because I'm having surgery on my left wrist next week (relocate bones, reattach ligaments, etc. - left over from a crash 6 weeks ago in a desert motorcycle race :( ), and I don't know when I'll be able to get to it afterward. So yes, I'll basically be doing it one-handed with an assistant. I'm confident that I can still do it handicapped, since last Sunday, I installed some 2" springs and shocks to see how a lifted truck will fit in my garage. Yeah, my doctor thinks I'm nuts.

It's basically a limited slip for the rear. I drive too much on the street to get a full locker, and I'm not waiting for ARB.

Yea, I actually paid like $350 for the install, and the rest was mounting the tires. Didn't know they were charging that much for mounting & balancing until it was said and done.

I posted this on a thread:

This is what ARB sent back to me:

Approval has been given to proceed. We should have product in 3-4 months.

We will have a part number in 2-3 weeks and begin taking orders at that

time.

I want to know more about this Limited-Slip and how it's better than the stock "Anti-Spin" ? Looked at your profile, your truck looks beautiful though.

Honestly man I'm not sure there is any difference functionally speaking between the stock unit and the limited slip I'm getting. My truck simply didn't come with any type of anti-spin diff, just an open one, so that's why I'm getting one. Buying from the dealer would be too pricey. I asked Randy's if it could withstand a moderately bombed truck, and they said yes, they have a guy in a D-max running the same unit (since our AAM axles are essentially Chevy), and he said it's holding up wonderfully. :-laf

Ohh I see, I didn't know you could get a CTD without the Anti-spin rear diff, ok that makes sense then...

I think what you may be getting from Randy's is the GM "G80" gov loc unit. It is made by Eaton and the design has been around for a long time. Here is a thread on it started by a friend for me over at The Diesel Place http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=70823 and here is a thread I started just a few days ago here on TDR http://turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=153552 If this is not the unit thay are supplying then it must be the tru trac which is the factory Dodge offering and some Chevy guys are running them because they seem to hold up better. These two units are our only choice for the rear 11. 5 right now but the Detroit locker and the ARB seem to be coming soon.

Hmmm... I'm not sure exactly what I'm getting then.

I asked if it was a limited slip like the factory unit. He said yes.

He also said it has no clutches so it needs no special additive.

Cost was like $500 or $550.

Which ya think I be gettin??

I second that, if it truly has no clutches it has to be the Dodge unit. The gov loc has clutches but needs no additive. I was quoted $769 from Randy's for the gov loc so I would bet you are getting the Dodge unit. Call them up, ask what you are getting and you'll know for sure.

Yukon 4. 10's & LSD is in. Trying to break 'em in easy, but I'm really liking the difference so far. Don't have to mash the pedal near as much and hear the engine churn to turn the 35" PJ's. Not exactly like stock due to the greater rolling weight, but much more comfortable to drive. Plus the LSD is great... I won't know for sure the difference until I can romp on it some and see how much the spin is improved, but so far so good.
