Competition air bags for pulling

Still, how do you enforce a flow rate? How do you easily tech flow rate at the track during a 5-10min tech inspection? DHRA needs to roll 85 trucks through tech (at IRP or SDX), while doing an effective job, in a timely manner. Plus, there is a limit to useable fuel when your still using a stock charger.

I don't care if you dump 100 gallons of fuel a minute through it, if your turbo is limited, it won't do you any good.

Fuel flow rate is not a concern.

just some food for thought... ... ... what about limiting the exh. size... . I. E. 2. 8" in and 2. 8" out. we do it on our pulling tractors 3"in and 3"out and it makes you more inovative than just limiting the intake side of things. anybody can take a huge turbo like an S-400 sleeve it and have the exh. side do all the work, why not limit it too. yea i know its a pain to check but do as the NTPA dose get your turbo inspected and it gets a tamper proof wire and clamp on it. and if you blow it up or take it off you have to get it checked again.

p. s. gene if you use my idea i want a tour of the press box!

no they are not, BUT a turbocharged diesel is just that. by limiting the exh side brings a whole new kind of engine builder to light. to make that same 600-700 hp in SD would be a little harder.

You guys need a reality check. Big deal there is just a limit on the inducer of the chargers used in SD. WS uses a STOCK TURBO!!!!!!! Holy crap, no confusion, just use the STOCK TURBO!!!!!!! I don't see any reason for DHRA to change the rules to limit exhaust housings or flow rates(yeah right) or anything else, what you guys need to do is stop reading between the lines of the rulebook and build your trucks accordingly. This is getting ridiculous, if your interpretation of the rulebook "seems" wrong, you can bet your *** it is wrong.

Limiting the hot and cold wheel to the same size is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. The 3x3 rule in superfarm is why those tractors are turds. And why it's the most boring class in pulling, period. Not to mention the bs it adds to teching them. And, the HIGH $$$$ a stupid off the wall charger costs.

I hear ya' loud and clear Amish. If the rules are "Stock Turbo" (unmodified) then that's a direct and simple answer. I hope no-one gets too mad when they get failed in tech for have a "Stock-appearing OEM make-specific" turbo. Reading between the lines is what serious competitors do. I still think some numbers need to be put on it somewhere; but this horse is dead so /shrug

Not tryin to get loud with ya MAK. :) Just laugh, man. Don't take my ramblings personal. Just tryin to help clarify and make light of things. :p

There's still lines to read between for that class. They're just a lot closer than where you're at. ;) If you're "building" a pulling truck, the WS class probably isn't for you.

As far as people getting mad if they get bumped up, it should only be at themselves. Its not like they can't email DHRA with a question. (we need head banging smiley)

And if nothing else, think of Skippy. Poor, poor, Skippy. :(

On to a new question; if "OEM Make Specific" means it had to have been sold on a Ford/Chevy/Dodge truck -- it appears the 3rd Gens can't run "Stage 3" CP3's since they're a different pump then was sold on the truck? I've sent that question to DHRA tech as well.
