What's the verdict on the TrailBlazer/Envoy?

I sent you a PM

When they do the screening, have them check you for mental illness because anyone that would voluntarily come over at this point in time is not sane in my book.

Forgot to mention... you cant spend the money when you are dead.

2 days and a wakeup till I go home :)

One month ago, I was asked about going to the Kuwaiti / Iraqi border to train some people how to operate a 2500 hp gas compressor. I said NO WAY!

Two weeks ago, I was asked to go to (something)stan to start up a compressor station. Once again, I said NO WAY!!

I told my boss that most of the Middle East, Africa and any country which has a name ending in 'stan is not in my travel plans for quite some time. I don't care how much money, quarters, drivers, lear ambulance availability or whatever is offered, a job is not worth my life. Especially to my wife and three little 'uns.

Although that still leaves me with Asia, Eastern Europe and South America. :(

MDW, dont do it; enjoy the US. Most other places that my company or KBR operates in are not worth the trip. Also, more money is spent at home while you are gone. Don't get riled Mrs. MDW, but when things break, an expensive service call is made when most of the time Mr. MDW could have fixed it much cheaper.

I dont think you need to convince the wife.

Any wife that would push her husband to work in Iraq or Kuwait in the summertime is justification for divorce. I will even volunteer as an expert witness in divorce court.

There are a lot of specialized jobs going overseas for 1 year contracts. A friend is going to Bosnia as a cop. His contract says he has to work there for 1 year. If he completes the year, the contract pays him 100,000 bucks tax free. Don't ask, I don't know how that works. But from what he's heard, he can live for next to nothing over there and come back with a lot of money in the bank. If he does good, he can reup for another year, and maybe go to another country. IF I was younger, I'd do it, not just for the money but for the life experience.
