I can remember Oshkosh from the late forties before front-discharge mixers became the rage. My father, who started in the industry in 1928, ran some Oshkosh mixers that had been war surplus left over from WWII. He added Smith or Challenge mixers that had their own power source (a first-class aggravation). He said the Oshkosh was a tough truck in that Florida sand. He also ran FWD, AutoCar, and Diamond T's.
