A Wheel loader is different than an excavator.
The largest wheel loader is made by Le Tornea (sp), manufactured in Texas. I saw it on Extreme Machines on TLC. I have seen a 994 at the coal mine in BC, pretty big. . They also have one of the larger electric excavators made by Marion. Three shovels filled a 240 Ton truck, pretty impressive. We had to troubleshoot the main DC motor on the shovel boom for balance.

The coal mine is a great show of shear size.

If you wanna see real mining. Visit the Iron mines in northern Minnesota. Hibbing is home of the worlds largest open pit iron mining in the world. It called the Hull Rust mining pit.
