worlds slowest diesel

I have a 15 sec video I took of a 1916 Rumley, must have been running at 150RPM ( single cylinder ). Send me a blank email and I'll reply with the video. -- email address removed --

Not quite a diesel but close, they have a spark ignition. They must have worked fairly well in their time, so many of them have survived in running condition. The square box on the front is the radiator can't tell exactly how it works,by convection?

That looks real close to what I saw. The op said it ran on diesel, motor oil, kerosene or whatever. Looks like the same machine though.

More like a 12V Cummins with the boost line to the AFC blocked off. Took me at least two miles to get up to 60. I even had 600 RPM drops with each shift of the auto transmission. And I couldn't even *reach* 60 if I was going up a slight incline!

The ships that come into Savannah running on heavy fuel (Bunker C) will run around 100-150 rpm. Max speed on most of them is 350 rpm. They are 20,000 to 45,000 hp, direct drive which means they will run forward or backward. Just change the timing when you want to reverse the engine direction, use compressed air to start turning the engine the direction you want it to go, add fuel and you've got power.
