My 92 W250's front leaf springs are showing their age pretty bad and I want to get a sky jacker 4" or super lift kit. All I want is to be able to run 33's and have plenty of clearance. My question to ya'll with these lifts, what height and what problems did you run into with these lifts. It's getting to the point my stock tires are rubbing my running boards when I turn and am affraid the springs are going to just buckle and break going down my dirt road home one of these days. I kind of want to get rid of the blocks on the rear too, what are ya'll recommendations? Thanks ahead of time... . thinkin this one here... 4" 92-93 Dodge 3/4 & 1 Ton Skyjacker Lift System !

I would say go with the new springs in the front and you should be happy . It should give you the lift you need as for problem's they should be a basicly bolt up thing you may want to look into cross over steering and deffently a steering stablizier your truck will ride alot better and feel alot better as you go down the dirt road .

I can vouch for the Skyjacker springs on my Chevy 1-ton. I got the Softride (all 4) with 2 1/2 inches of lift and no stinkin' blocks. I run 35" BFG's and use Airlift overloads on the rear for heavy hauling. A very sweet setup with great articulation and the ride is awesome. To me, the factories should have used such a system. It assures you of being level which means better steering and braking under any load; all without riding rough.

My second gen Dodge is going to get that same treatment in the rear.

Well I don't tow with my 92 any, it's really my play truck, but the 4 wheel articulation is a must with 33's, so maybe I should just go with a 2. 5 inch lift sence you have good travel with 35's? I don't want 35's, 33's will get me in enough trouble.

I have the 2 1/2" Skyjacker softrides with 33's and the only time they rub is at full steering lock and compression they will rub on the back of the fender well. I did trim a little off the back of the wheelwell trim in front of the wheels so they wouldn't rub there. If you are planning on offroading with your truck you probably will want more than the 2 1/2".

Chris, i have BFG 35" allterrains on my W250. no lift at all. i cut out some of the black trim around the wheel well to help tame the rubbing, but their not terrible. im going to get the skyjacker 2-2. 5" set up here before too long. if you slightly modify your wheel wells you should probly be able to fit the 33's stock.

if you want to see how the 35''s actually fit on a stock truck, check my PhotoGallery, i have a lot of pictures up close of how the fit.

I just want a lil lift to fit 33's and have decent travel, but I know some guys have had a lot of head aches with their lift kits messing up there steering and stuff, so I'm just tryin to figure out whats best now. 2. 5" or 4" with out messing up the the alignment on everything... I'm just waiting for these stock "FLAT" now leaf springs to buckle and break...

haha, "flat"???? shucks mine are well past flat, their sagging upside down! im about 1inch off the bumb stops. i think the 2. 5" is a safe way to go. not to much but just enough.

The front leafs on you trucks are suppose to be pretty close to flat. They cant bend too much back from there either, there aint much room before the bump stop on the stock set up. Hmm... that would be an interesting ride for your front end to be basically always sitting on the bump stops... Our trucks are a rough enough ride already...

whatever you do, don't do the add-a-leaf to get the lift, thats what the PO did on mine, when I test drove it I hit a bump and about lost my kidneys, it gets the job done but ride quality is alot worse, I too would just go with the new springs.

what about in the rear Chris???? i believe with the skyjacker kit, they give you knew leaf packs for the front and then add-a-leafs in the rear.
