The removal of my old VP44 injection pump went very smooth, however, during the installation of my new pump, the worst case scerario happened: the half-moon timing keyway got bumped and fell into the timing gear case. There goes my trailer towing vacation next week:eek:

Now what?

Dude that really sucks. When I was in the Navy, before I ever went and worked over a grated deck plate that was over the builge I purposly threw an old wrench in the builge... . as a sacrafice. This kept the Builge God at bey, and I did not lose anything else. Builge Diving really sucks.

Pull front cover

I just finished removing my front cover to check KDP. It is not that bad a job. RR fan was worse part. New seal about $30, RTV and couple of hours is all it takes. Beats buying the 03 F**d I saw in your other post.

Did you see it fall into the case ? Or are you assuming its in the case . If not look all over the area on and under the truck . The number of the key is the size cut for the pump I think some one knows for sure and a key could be made for that pump if possible. Just a thought . Read up on Glow plugs etc. LOL Ron Bissett in Metro Louisville KY.
