I have never had a issue with my 03 or 07 CAT removed with the law.

Its interesting that you mentioned Jardine, because that is where I will go if I do the exhaust. They did my last truck from the cat back. I pretty much trust what they say and their prices are real good. Quoted around $400 for a 4" turbo back, installed. I really like to use the exhaust as a reason to take a mini vacation to WY. Beautiful country up there. Last time I took the bike with me and rode to Jackson Hole and around Yellowstone for the weekend and then left Monday after they put the pipes on.

I would highly reccomend doing the cat back I did like the sound of the turbo back but it got to be to much when I was pulling something.

I've heard rumors about that, but I haven't been able to verify that it's actually happening. It is illegal, but I suspect you wouldn't have to worry about it until 2010 when CA is supposed to start sniff-testing diesels.

1-2 mpg improvement will add up in 200k miles ...

i just gutted mine ...

visually "legal"

the main reason i did the wifes truck was primarily in order to avoid problems down the road ...

just ask anyone who's ever had one plug up ...

if it's hollow i KNOW it will never give me any problems ...

the extra 1 mpg and 100 degrees on the pyro is just a benefit ...

i did my wife's truck the day we bought it ... also put on a cat back system ...

4" straight thru from turbo to tip ...

with only this mod the wife averaged 17. 8 mpg over the first 12k miles

that's overall mileage in a hilly state like WV ...

granted she drives very easily and did the speed limit
