Competition Diesel Sled Pulling in Europe.....VIDEO!

Off Roading Moab in an '05 2500

As I sit here with my humble pie (fork in hand) I'll explain the recent issues I had and what the outcome was.

Odd, but I noticed on my WOT runs that the smoke was clearing up..... hum, 12v, 370's, 215 pump shouldn't be totally clear, but she is running great... . ok cocky till WOT. If you follow me I posted about changing the Gov arm so it hits the plate lower... . cool still there.

Now it's just doesn't feel right at WOT, 3/4 not issue! Turn on the Water/Meth... worse, bigger injectors worse, N2O... . bad, backfired so hard (hard like a granade) that bent two push rods #3 and #4 Intake... . odd!

Now it's down to banging on #2 only, so I start running down things to try and figure it out... ... .
these are here so you don't spend wasted time/money

I changed out the springs, locks and retainers. Locks were beat up a bit, spring were ok but not to new tightness. Same outcome! Fuel pressure... hum never been an issue but JetPilot comes in here, but Doug I've run it to 3 psi before with no issue. Well pressure at WOT was zero or less as the gauge hit the bottom so fast.

So I change the filter, get rid of the fuel heater(Joe George instructions) check the pre-screen and finish the install on the Aux system that I had never completed... ... ... . 12AN feed, A1000, Filter, 10AN up to the pump. Now it's better as I can hold 40 psi or so at WOT.

Outcome: The stock lift pump (156k) is holding 35 psi and just a little lower than 20 at WOT. Aux on holds better than 40 psi, starting out at 55 or so.

Final: Either ask your buddy or ask the TDR... ... we are here for that!

Along with these changes I pulled the turbo and manifold, installed new gaskets on the manifold, the cool multilayer ones, and put the new ported exhaust housing on I got from I. I. Man what a difference on the low end spool up, it now starts building boost as soon as you drive off. The high boost hit now is 10 or so lower... . 52. I need to recheck drive pressure and see how much it dropped over the standard housing.

so as a result of this thread I decided to yank mine today for the heck of it, its a ol 95 work truck so I figure its shot. Well there was fuel (I assume) in the electrical connection and brittle plastic pieces in the pre filter so I think it was toes up anyways. Broke one of the torx screws off in the housing removing the temp sensor. Other then the diesel bath, not a bad job. I never had any hard start issues to begin with but we will see if there is any benifits to loosing this pos in the fuel system.
