There is this screw on the drivers side of the pump that appears to be the WOT stop screw. It has a funny metal cone over the adjustment end. Is it ok to adjust this and if so how much? Does it gain me anything?

You can simply remove that screw. However, it order to gain from this you will have to tweak the throttle linkages to allow the throttle contol lever(s) to move (rearward) enough to gain anything above much over a couple hundred rpm's.

This process can be lengthy and I'll not take time to go into full datails at this time unless you spacifically ask.

Simply LOOK at ALL the throttle levers and how they move. You'll soon discover that there are a lot of built in limiting factors you'll have to address. Nuff said.

Thanks a lot. I think I can figure out the linkage modifications. I just wanted to check that the removal of that screw wouldn't hurt the pump internals. Will this help with overall power output if I don't have a governor spring?

Yes. It will raise your fuel cut off speed cause the internal spring (governor spring) will be streatched a bit farther (tighter) if you pull the contol lever back farther than the OEM setting.

Clear as ice water, huh.
