Would a 12' feral hog fit in a 3rd Gen LWB?

This is going to be interesting to see how long this post lasts before being moved, but hopefully I've covered all my bases in making it relevant to the 3rd Gen forum. Two questions here. First, is there any way you could fit a 12', 1000Lb. feral hog in the bed of a 3rd Gen LWB without cutting it up? Second, and even more important is do you believe this is for real, or is it a hoax? I got to talking with a buddy about this and we both think this is a hoax. Is there anyone on this forum that wouldn't have saved a tusk, a foot, tooth, tail or some other body part from this hog, just so you could brag about it for the next 20 years??? I would have chewed the head off that beast with my bare teeth if I had to. Who would believe you otherwise? I can't see anyone burying it just because it was so large and then settling for one stinking picture of themselves standing next to it.



And why did I ask about it fitting in a 3rd Gen LWB? Because shooting a 12' feral hog is such an amazing story about the only thing that could enhance it is telling everyone you drove it out of the woods in your 3rd Generation LWB CTD.

I have a 04 3500 that could haul such a hog out, if it did exist. there are 1000lbers on record, but they are barnyard pets fed special diets to get there. In the wild, never. But I am sure my truck could handle it. And I dang sure would have kept some parts to verify it. Wonder what he will say if the biologist asks to dig up the carcass to measure the bones?

I think 12' is pushing it. The hog in the pic looks real... but it's snout is almost at the half-height of the guy standing there... and I bet he's 6' or so.

I'd believe 8' maybe.

You'd probably have to move the seat all the way back and the power pedals all the way forward. Even then he'd probaby have to stick his head out the window while driving... ;-)

Seems that photo looks like a MEAT pig thats been DOCTORED! And or TRUE WILD HOGS are not very wide. They sure can be TALL and LONG but not WIDE Oo.

Seems to be a lack of bristled hair on the animal too, but the hair could be under all that mud. But I did notice that you hail from Georgia, as does this hog. This sounds like a good excuse for a road trip from out Georgia members. Zip over with a few shovels and ask the guy to let you dig the pig up...



Surely someone in Georgia has a new CTD that needs to be both road and off-road tested.

The MUD and such is what I mean as DOCTORED. The PIG looks like a covered in something DOMESTIC MEAT pig. But yea my truck would tote that. Don't think I'd want to but yea it could. Looks like a OLD BIG common hog that maybe died and just plain being buried.

It is probably real. Feral pigs are not totally wild like a russian black, ie they carry enough genetic influence from true domestic pigs to put on weight quickly. Especially in GA where I am assuming winters are pretty mild and food is plentiful year round due to the long growing season. Domestic pigs get this big because their growth plates never seal off. This allows the long bones to grow indefinately. Either way, that is one big pig and I would feel much more comfortable with him in the back of the truck than one on one in the back woods.



I am sure that any of our trucks would haul it.
