FASS fuel pressure spring question

Since #2, kerosene and JP-5 are all pretty close, I wonder if kerosene (Maybe cut 50/50 with #2 diesel) would be a good fuel? I've seen it advertised for quite a bit less than #2.

I know a guy who claims to cut his diesel 50/50 with JP-5, as he has access to it.

Just thinking out loud... ... ... .

i wouldnt run the mix over 50/50, as for the kerosene does not lube as well as as #2, maybe add some two stroke oil with the kerosene like 4oz per gallon, the cp3 is making way too much pressure to miss some lube

I think it would be a wash money-wise. Kerosine has less btu so your milage would go down. No sense risking the cp3 for little or no money savings, Oh yeah and LESS power and that is NEVER good.

Its very illegal... there's no road tax on kerosine... you might as well run red fuel (off road fuel), which is identical to clear fuel (except for the dye) and will be approx $0. 42 cheaper than clear fuel, depending on your state's fuel tax.

Speaking of Red Dye... . Last Week they were stopping and dipping ALL diesels on Highway 89 10 miles north of Flagstaff, AZ, even volkswagon TDI's were being dipped. I even had a discussion over how my Transfer Flow 98 Gallion is perfectly legal for non CDL operators.

As was said, the kero is cheaper because it's not taxed. Up here in the north they blend your fuel at a 50/50 and my mileage goes down about 2 mpg. By the way the taxes are paid when it's blended for the road. Too much kero will hurt things though.

The kerosene will act like a solvent in your engine. I think it will cause premature wear on steel parts. I did know this old guy back in Rodeo (a town I lived in as a kid) who use to rinse his engine out after every oil change with kerosene.
