I just put on 265/75/16's on my 2001. They fit perfectly and do not rub, Got them from Discount Tire cheap ($95. 00) and load range E. They are the house brand, Dominator. So far so good.

Ron. . it's about 10% +/- a little depending on accuracy of your speedo now... and that was with 4. 10 gears [old rig]... the '01. 5 came with 235's

Thanks for the replys,

I can get 6 235/85/16 load range E 10 ply yokohama geolander AT II for $660. 00 mounted and balanced with a life time rotation free every 6,000 miles, for another $20. 00 up front they will take two tires off the rim and reinstall so the white lettering faces out at every rotation for free.

Ron that is hard to beat for the price. I know the Michelin XPS Tractions would of cost you twice as much. Based on the comments I read about these tires by owners (on tirerack) they sound like they are great tires. Look forward to your comments after you use them for awhile.

Never did see if its was a 2wd or not.

If mine ever go bad, I will put Cooper SRMII's on it.

I put them on my last 2500, drove them 50,000 miles, and still had 1/2 the tread on them when I traided it in last Christmas.

Good riding, and Quiet. One winter I hit a couple snow covered rodes with them, they did much better then I expected a highway Rib tire to do. (they are MS rated)

Plus I here its the last US tire company left?

I am still running the Michelin LTX tires that came on the truck and am at 54,000 miles, the tires are wore down to the wear bars between the threads. I figure they might have another 6,000 or so miles of life left in them but I am getting a good deal now so I figured I would change them out, besides we are planning on a long trip this summer and new tires would be good to have. The Michelins have been excellent tires and I would like to replace them with the same ones but money is tight. I know I could buy the Yokohamas and store them until fall and then have them installed but with my luck there would be something wrong with them (like they will rub on the duals) and I would be stuck with a set of tires I couldn't use and have to try and pawn them off on someone else at a reduced price, good for someone else but not me, so I set up an appointment on friday to have them installed.

Ron

ronsram, I ran the Yokohama Geolander AT+2's on my 2500 and liked their ride over the BFG A/T's. I ran 285/75-16's and the ride was smoother, the road noise level was lower, and the wear was much better. All this and half the price of the BFG's.

I did tow occasionally with this setup pulling my 30 ft gooseneck, and it performed well, and the rear tires didn't squirm at all.

Now if you can convince him to go to 19. 5's my Goodyear G-124's are very aggressive, and grab on anything. Awesome tires!

I finally put a set of Michelin ATX 235-85-16's on my 97. Started out the other day with a lot of running planned and had a flat so I bit the bullet. Quite the serious tire.

Anyone using these on your 3500, what air pressures are you getting the best results with? TIA

I would have to agree with ToolMan, I've got the 255/85 BFG MT's on my truck also, and after record snow falls this winter and a bunch of plowing I would have to say that this is the best plow truck I have ever plowed with. I tend to go a little fast sometimes while plowing and try to push snow a little too far, in the end I am usually stuck. Not with this set-up and about 800 lbs in the back, I have never gotten this truck stuck with these tires. When I first got the truck with the stock Michelins it really sucked in the snow, floated all around, now it bites in and chews. If you've got a dually and need excellent traction and aren't really in need of load range E tire the BFG MT's are excellent.

How far off is the speedo with the BFG Mud 255/85 r 16's. I am thinking of buying these tires, just would like to klnow how far off the speedometer wil be. I kinda like it when it reads correctly!!!

These are good looking tires but I was wondering how well they were for street use and what kind of mileage you get from them. Just fiqured you might know since you are going to buy a set.

I never checked my speedometer before the tire change but after I checked it against a GPS and it was 6 mph off. I've got 17,000 miles on mine and the ones on the rear look almost new, of course the ones on the front have a wierd wear pattern because I have the typical Dodge front end. On my 93 3/4 ton I got 50,000 out of a set rotating them every 5,000 miles.
