Just wondering if removing the intake silencer on a new truck like this could get a person's warranty voided? I've never had a new truck before, all this warranty stuff is new to me.

I'll see how they are sounding stock, but it seems to me that I'll probably want to hear that turbo a lot more than the dodge engineers wanted to. Anyone remove theirs already?

They are a bit different than the ones in the old HX 35's,more of a chance to tweak it while removing it

Forrest, that was my initial thought until I found out like Bob says they are harder to get out. Apparently you have to break 3 dowel pins first. I wonder if cold air intake kits are allowed or if those would void the warranty? Or is it a case of anything will void the warranty? Should I just check with my dealer or are they not a reliable source of info when it comes to this type of stuff.

You need to talk to your dealer and find out what they believe in, we didn't void warrenty on intakes, exhaust, even chips, unless you were a total jackass about it.

Just got back from my dealer Reno Dodge and there on the counter was a cold air intake by K&N for are trucks. Parts man said they sell a lot. So know warranty problem there. As for Turbo ring the mechanics from what I have seen woudnt know if the ring was there or not. If the book said it was there and it was gone they would have to call dodge and ask where it is. They can not do anything but what Dodge tells them. Nooo Thinking.

my opinion don't waste your money on a intake system, the stock intake is probably the best one out there for the money (free) just get an aftermarket drop-in filter so that you can clean it yourself.

Dodge has sent out letters warning about any mods on the 6. 7. They specificly spelled out every mod that we do... ... ... ..... the notice said to contact your DM before proceding with any warranty repairs.

The turbos go back to Cummins for inspection and the dealer gets charged back if they missed any obvious tampering.

Have you had good service there? I have never heard anyone say anything good about them. I bought my first Dodge there in 1987, got hosed (my fault), and had horrible warranty work (their fault). Carson Dodge for the next three! Sorry about the minor hijack.

All they do is change oil and filter. It was in my contract for that. I own Sierra Nv Truck service. and I am my own warranty station. Service not bad. Sales will say anything to make a sale.
