On it's face I voted "yes" but whether I WILL or not is another matter. I think that Cummins will have the engine sorted out. I think it was said the engine has already been in use for two years so its probably no biggie. I hope they deliver on their claims about fuel mileage but... ... ... I dunno. I also hope that they bump the power to trump Ford and GM when the time comes... ... if they can. I expect they're sandbaggin' but time will tell. The only other thing for me is... ... ... . MAN that's a lot of electronic stuff on a motor! But if anybody can do it right Cummins will.

No ... not till the emissions garbage can be removed without some computer thing going haywire. Strip the exhaust system out, the particulate trap out the fuel lines to the particulate trap out, and the EGR out and then you might have a good engine. Oh yeah, and get rid of the duel mass flywheel in the transmission and you'll have a reliable engine/transmission combo.

Yes, but not year one.

Out of curiosity... ... ... . why do you say that ?

You have a "year one" HPCR, as do I.

My '03 is trouble-free. :-laf

On a side note, I can somehow or other sense this could become a 1st GEN and/or 2nd GEN bashing event against 3rd GEN trucks and owners.

I say yes, I would however wait til they have been out a while to hear the good, bad and ugly from other owners. Im happy with my 03 for now though.

ding ding ding, we have a winner here!!!!

Didn't we go thru this when the 04. 5 came out? The 600/610 has been selling like hot cakes since then with very few problems. I sure like mine, and it was not only a 1st year model, it was built the 1st week.

The poll needs an option for "wait and see".
