Would You Buy Stock in Syntroleum?

I was surfing one night and came upon this firm. They want to make Synthentic Diesel fuel. 72 Cetane too. . I have never bought stock in my life. They don't have a plant built yet. I guess thay have a floating barge that they are working on. They say this whole thing may not work.



The stock is cheap. I figured what the heck. You never know.



If one were to buy stock, how many shares would you get?

Symbol is SYNM and was trading around $4 share today. Chart looks good, mostly up. Would have been nice to pick it up for a buck last year.

Thought Nasdaq didn't list stocks under $5/share.

I want to buy some stock in SYNM. The company that handles their investor services says I need to go to a stock broker.



I'm confused now.



Can you guys recommend a Stock Broker.

Just an opinion, but if I didn't own any stock, I would not by an individual stock unless you like rolling the dice. If you want to get into the market, perhaps you should try a closed end index fund. This offers the growth of the market, but the stability of an entire stock portfolio. Check out SPY, DIA, XLK, QQQ, FFF, etc.

Unless it's Harley Davidson. Take note that the numbers on the right side of this chart comparing HDI to the S&P and Dow are percent.

You sure made a good call on that one. You kicked my butt on the S&P for the two years, but over the long haul, nothing ussually even comes close.
