They are way too ugly for me. And I kinda want to say it isn't a Cummins anymore. Could we say its a EPA designed engine?

SoOmetimes I think the HO engine with the auto trans would be nice - but than I guess my wife would want to drive my truck (she can't drive the standard trans).

No, I think I'll keep this one!

Seems somebody is waiting for a 2003, the dealers are full of nice trucks out here in mid PA (most are HO with 6spd, but no 2500 2wd's:( )

They will move them for cost, plus the $3000 rebate I would think you can't go wrong.

I did find a 3500 HO, but I did not like the color (white, I would have to wash it more often) and it had 4:10's, so I decided to not try to figure out how I could pay for it.

The new trucks are lame, pig-nosed, wannabe crew cabs. I like mine. I'll wait until 2011 when the new RAM comes out. If it has wings and a jet engine... :D

The reason I bought a 2002 was because I figured this is as good as it is going to get. The only thing that I don't like is the C. A. D. system, but the rest of the truck makes up for that.

I think that the under hood space and Spicer axles on the second gen. trucks are just a few examples of why they are a great choice of trucks.

TowPro, you got that backward. White would have to be washed less often. White show dirt the least. Now if you want to wash a truck a lot get my color :D Hope I did not mess you up and now you have to figureout how you are going to buy that new white truck :-laf :-laf :-laf

Pit Bull has it right. I've had both, and it will drive you crazy trying to keep black clean, it's the worst. Even shows water spots (think you'll see that on white?) if you happen to have a quick shower or drive thru a sprinkler, your wash job is ruined. Red is next on the list for most difficult to keep clean (yep, had one of them too) IMHO.

zman,

AMEN! I've had medium driftwood (not too bad), red (never again!), graphite, etc. on vehicles. All three of our current vehicles are white (2002 Ram & 2000 Durango - bright white; 2003 Acura 3. 2TL-S - white diamond pearl). By far the easiest color to maintain and the coolest in Houston summers.

Not even if they traded me even-up, and threw in a new Jeep, I love my 2nd gen!!! They can keep that quiet engine, mini-van lookin' interior, 4-door wanna-be, designed around a chick thing, on the lot.

Later, Rob

Absolutely, I could eventually accept that UGLY grill, but the interior has been ruined! I might pick up another 2G though- maybe even a 12v. But there's another 3-400k good miles in my current ride.

Of course I would like to be the first guy to rip a muffler off the Whisper Cummins! but that interior is awful.

well I could traid in my 98 Driftwood (which can go months without a wash job) plus my 98 Jetta TDi, but then I would have to drive the 3500 into Filthadelphia and that ain't going to work, it can't fit through the parking garages! My job location changes every 6-12 months, who knows where I will have to work next. It may be close to home (NOT, I live in the country) or it may be 75 miles away. What that means is if I sell the car, I will end up with a new truck, with a ton of miles on it, and still not paid for (I already got one of them, my 98, but since I got the car last year the mileage has gone way down on the truck)

Even though now is best buying oppertunity I have seen on the Cummins, I will have to pass. Hell, maybe I will win the lottery and I can buy a freightliner. NA, they dropped the ISB from the FL line! (but they will sell you a CAT or MB diesel)
