Got my truck back from Williamsburg Dodge in Williamsburg, VA and I had the HVAC recirc door assembly replaced... . it is like a new truck.

In fact after having the repair done I am convinced that it was broken when I bought it in October, but I didn't think much about it because I didn't really need it. The fan is much, much quieter and the air flow is much improved.

I still may add the Dura Cool after I have had some more time in hotter weather with it but I had to give credit where credit is due since this was the thing about my truck that was bothering me the most.

Glad you got it fixed. I believe mine was busted on delivery too.

The dealer replaced the complete HVAC housing and the difference is amazing.

Mine was replaced twice under warranty and once on my dime ($700+) ... ..... it's acting up again ... ... ... . don't get too comfortable.

Hvac Door Problem Or Fan

Hello: ANY ONE HAVE THIS SAME THING HAPPEN TO YOU

I went to turn on my A/C, And noted that blower motor was not blowing enough vloume of cold air out of the vents,or being directed to ? or was being restricted some where. Next thing notice when I turn the control knob to floor setting and to the defroster the recurculat setting. air flow

all available on the air flow controller made no difference. I turned up the fan speed ,and yes that worked fan speed made the blower

spin UP faster. but with no effect on the amount of air flow out the vents. Note I am driving and hit a bump and the fan suddenly starts to rub or grinding vibrating with loud noise making HARSH contact against something in the hvac system. so flipped off the A/C in a flash. I found out later that it would not make contact (Grinding) if it was on #1st. low speed setting.

I think it is the vent control door is being sucked into the fan cage when on high speed setting. BASED IN OUTHER THREDS I HAVE READ. the truck is a early 2006 dodge dodge ram 3500,made Late aug. 2005. with 12,634 MILES AND 19 months since the day I drove it off the lot.

I have an appointment for repair. at my local dealear H. W. Hunter dodge

lancaster, Ca. interested to see if its the same fan control door stop as the 2003 models came equipped with  AND glad it showed its eugly head now and broke while is under warranty and not 5 years down the road. :)Im thinkinthat the extended warranty looks like a good thing rite now 2500. 00 to 2800. 00. # NOTE THIS IS THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE THUS FAR:D

Just a note. I just checked the MSDS for duracool 12, and its just a mix of propane and butane... These substances are not approved for MVAC use by the EPA. Not to mention the obvious flamability hazard. I'd stick with R134a if I were you.

mine was broke before i took deliver and i am on my third one in 2 years... . and after first time they told me to only change controls with fan off or on low... so i did it with it turned off. here it is 6 months later and broke again and this time we were riding to lunch and couple miles down the road it pops all on its own... . vent set to panel/floor and fan set to lowest position.

if it happens one more time I am going to trade this ***** in as when the warranty runs out I am not going to pay $500 for them to spend a day to fix a $2 part..... why doesnt Dodge or Geno or someone make a door that wont break? PLEASE... I love the cummins... I love my truck... . but in 25 years and multiple trucks, SUVs, Jeeps, and cars... I have NEVER ever broke even ONE VENTILATION blend door or vent door. Three in two years is a bit much...
