My old '79 Volswagen Rabbit Diesel was rated lower in HP and Torque, a slightly smaller engine, naturally aspirated and it was no slouch and would do 50+MPG highway! I'll bet this motor would Kick some A** in a jeep or other small SUV/pickup. I wonder if a turbo could be added? Ifn I was a real mechanic, this would be at the top of my vehicle priority list of things to do. How about a transverse mount in a Subaru witha big hood scoopOo. Got a transplant patient waiting over to the shop. GregH

That would be sweet in my 87 Ram 50 4x4. I already need a $900 carb. Even a rebuilt was over $650. I bet it would get a lot better than 24mpg.

This mention make me wonder -- does that mean it isn't "certified" for on road use ???? Can't you put it in an older rig or if you live where they check that stuff . maybe you're SOL?????

They are a neat little engine but getting somebody knowledgeable to work on them or getting parts for them is really hard right now. Mainly because it is not a real Cummins it is just relabeled. I can't remember who makes them. They would be great in a ranger or something like that.

Looking at the valve cover, wondering if it is a 4 valve per pot. And what kind of IP it has. Ive seen this type of engine in newer high lift AT forklifts. Computer controlled IP. Like the VP44s in 24 valve 2nd gens. Probably a great engine but no bombing possible unless you can rewrite the ECM.
