Jeep 4bt coversion ???

fuel milage ?

While that is a very good price for slightly damaged, but fixed engine, I am not sure you'll be happy using an genset/AG injector pump in a vehicle. The throttle mechanisms in these engines are different than an engine with an automotive P pump in it.

If you can budget to swap out the injector pump for an automotive setup, that would be my only solution if I was going to get it. Maybe an injector/diesel shop would trade you for the pump since it is essentially brand new.

These engines can crank out some serious torque if you open them up. I glazed the clutch face in a GM transmission setup with these, clutch fully engaged

Is there an easy way to tell (looking at the ebay pics) which pump any given engine has? For example, which is this:http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cumm...019QQitemZ290030920987QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Which years did they come with the P7100 for automotive app's?

Thanks, I appreciate your knowledge!

The rotary pumps were swapped out about the same time on the 4bt's as the 6bts. There was a slight lag with one over the other, but it was within a year production wise if I remember right. '94 was the first dodge optioned P-7100 series injection pump offered. Everything before that was the old rotary tried and true $600. 00 rebuild type.

If you can get a pic of the data plate on the engine's gear cover, it will state whether its a medium duty automotive application or an AG/industrial setup. I can't remember the difference in the pumps by appearance, I haven't had much involvement with the stationary power unit engines. The one I did see hooked up in a truck was switched over to the automotive pump assembly before I had a chance to meet the owner. It would maintain RPM by the throttle position, not respond variably. Slow to respond to acceleration due to the pump springs or something I believe him saying.

OK, that's what I needed. Thanks for the info!
