I give a big thumbs down to this one!! They killed the Durango and now the Ram (looks more like a midsize)!! It took me a while to get used to the 2nd gens, but I can't see this one growing on me any time soon. Thank god I bought an '05!

Overall impressions of '04 vs. '06 interior (I owned an '02, '03, & '04 previously)



'04 interior grey color is better

'04 dash pocket is bigger and more useful, but you get more little pockets in the '06, so it just depends on what you want to store.



'06 dash is connected more solidly (less rattle)

'06 interior is much quieter

'06 seats aren't as plush but you just have to break 'em in, I'm already used to 'em and don't prefer either seats any more than the other.

'06 light grey color shows stains easier



Cupholders - totally personal preference. Neither is better. The '04 is more adjustable, but they were kind of flaky the way they folded out. The '06 has 3 cupholders if you got the floor console, which yes, you'll give up having the middle seat option which sucks too about the '06.

I liked the looks of my first gen better than the second gen, and the second gen better than the third gen. But I traded my first on a second and my second on a third and got used to them. I wouldn't go back. Reckon if I live long enough I'll end up with a 4th gen... . hope it's atomic powered... 3. 68 a gallon!!!!!

My '05 will probably be the last truck I buy, but personally, I love the looks of the '06 in 4x4. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.....

I can't stand the new cloth. When my 96 3500 decided to catch on fire a few months ago, I had an F-150 with that type of cloth in it. Did nothing but stain. I think the trucks look pretty good.

the '06 looks like someone startled it and i don't know about you other guys but what's the point of a diesel you can't hear. part of what makes a harley a harley is the sound and i like hearing my truck. if you want quiet buy a lexus or a truck that burns that "other" fuel. my '03 is hands down the best vehicle i have ever bought

Why not have the best of both, quiet, better power and mpg.

I never even considered a Diesel because of the noise till 03's came along.

The new headlights are gross looking. Can't wait till the over bearing plastic lights turn yellow and start getting spider cracks on the top. Common sense says real headlight are glass, not plastic...



The dash is terrible and square too. Same with that ugly grill... The cab is too long behind the doors and the bed is too short... The cummins emblem should be on the door... wow dodge took a good idea and ruined it, pretty much what they have done for a long time...
