Wow the 03 is a barker.

My almost stock 03 has a bad case of turbo bark while towing. Is this normal for the 03 HOs? I can bark it in 4th gear up. All it takes is heavy throttle and a shift at around 2000 rpms.

Mine will do that too while towing. I've seen no problems from doig that though.

Mine does it also when the torque conv. locks up in 4th.

Mine didn't bark with the stock turbo. With a manual the only way it's gonna bark is if you let off the pedal too fast, when the boost is up. You have to roll out of it.

This thing barking while stock surprises me. I had my 1990 turned up running 35 lbs of boost through the stock H1C and it never barked. Oh well I'll just have to watch it.

what turbo is on the 03's?

i know my 04. 5 is an HX35 and i think the autos are H ? 35's

is the 03 an HX30/H?30 ?

I believe the 3rd gens are a HY35/9 but not positive for all years.



I barked the H1C/21 on my 92 auto until it died. Can't make my 05 auto do it even on heavy loads and TC lockup.



Too much barking is definitely not a good thing. Really hard on impeller and bearings.
