Sorry to hear... but am I reading this right? You "wrecked" your truck going "3to4mph"???? I can see the bumper getting dinged but wrecked!?!?

sorry anyway

Tony

It happens! I hit a Ford Excort last Jan. He wasn't too familiar with U. S. traffic laws, and was making a very stupid left turn across 4 lanes of traffic in the rain. I was going about 3 MPH when I hit him. He was exactly 90 degrees to the traffic. He got really mad, said it was my fault. Both insurance companies disagreed with him. :) Damage to my 2nd Gen truck was Bumper, A/C & Trans cooler, which came to about $1,500. Luckily the Senor had insurance. I got a new UTE Bullbar for about $400 or so. Put it on myself, and put a new trans cooler on, but left the damaged A/C in place--it still gets cool, it just is smashed in a little.

When I say wrecked, I am talking about 10K in damage. I hit this concrete thing... It was in that blind spot at the corner post of the windshield, and drivers side. I hit it as i was taking off and turning left. I heard a little crunch noise and was like "what was that??" so I started looking to the right again and to the back. By the time I got back to the drivers side view it was too late. I hadn't even finished letting out the clutch. The whole drivers side is destroyed. from drivers door all the way back. The cummins gave no indication that the truck was against something, just acted normal. Dealer said new doors, new bed, new dually fenders, new cab back, lots of labor, ect...

If it makes you feel better I just jack knifed my dump trailer this weekend,pulled into steep driveway had a brain fart and pushed in clutch rolled back then looked in mirror, trailer was still jacked crunch. :{

E7mack96,

Compared to the wreck you were in in your 2001, I'd say you made out much better this time. Seriously, It's amazing how just a small mistake can cost so much!

E7mack96,

Is this the same truck you filled the crank case with fuel? Not you but the leaking injector. :--)

Yes, this is the same truck that got a full crankcase of good ole' #2.

I cannot believe how much damage can occur so easily, and not ever realize its being done. . The sheetmetal is too thin.

Bodyshop estimate is for $9087. 80 (at Colrain Dodge)

I got pics now, so Ill add them when I get home (at work now :D )

I wrecked my ram today at 12:30. Hit a concrete lightpole, going about 3-4 mile/hr.

Pics to follow... .

Sorry to hear that, but I can see how much damage occurs with such a small impact.

Mack,

That truck is bad luck. Maybe the dealer will make you a deal on trading it in (after fix) for an 05 with the employee discount. Anyway, good luck.

I got her back

I got my Baby back on Thursday. While the dealer had it, they wrecked it. The lot tech was backing out of the detail bay and tore off the pass side dually fender and busted the tailight assy. At least the dealer was honest enough to fix it right. It looks great Also, the work ended up just costing me $7,400. and change due to the discounts he gave me over wrecking it. Saved the deductable of $1,000 and got $750. 00 cash back too. Oo. :D

Well, at least the dealer fixed you truck, the right way I hope. 3 weeks ago I hit a deer and did some front end damage. Took out the bumper, A/C condenser, and the plastic intercooler. I got the plastic one replaced with a metal one, that's the only thing the dealer did right. When I got my truck back, I found out the next day the fog lights did not work. Had to take it back for that, then 2 days later I found out the A/C did not work while hot outside. Called the dealer up and he got real crappie with me on the phone. Then I come to find out my fog light bucket was not bolted incorrectly the bumper was 3/4 of and inch off and bolts missing and loose. I called my insurance CO and they said I had to take it back there for the dealer to fix it. Well, me and the insurance CO got in to for 3 day to get it straightened out. I had an inspector come out from Bloomington to look at my truck. Finally I took it to another body shop that took care of the truck and me.

IM glade it all worked out for ya. E7
