What little red light?

Looks like there is going to be a little get together and some wrench turning on the 30th of April. Everyone that wants to come is welcome.

The event will be held at my shop on the north west side of Des Moines, near Johnston. There will be three hoists available, as well as 12V timing tools, and all the usual stuff.

PM me for directions and phone numbers. Any suggestions on how to make the gathering any better are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

So would it be cool if we brought 3 12v to use timing tools on? What time are you kicking this off? My headwork should be done by then and truck up and running.

Thanks

How long does it take to install a new Track Bar? I know nothing bout it, cept DOC's say it's what I need. If I bring one someone show me how to put it in? I can't afford it, but I'm wearing out the steers faster than I outta and they cost more to replace, so I really can't afford not to.

Cheers,

Sounds ok. I have a few other people that want to do timing too, so we will try and get as many done as possible. I will be at the shop no later then 8 am, so you can come any time. With that many engines, the sooner the better.

Isn't you truck a 2wd? I didn't think they had a trac bar. Maybe they were talkin about tie rods or drag links?

2wd's don't have a track bar. You are probably right, needs tie rod ends or something along those lines.

We might just have two trucks now, but thanks for the open invite. Do you know of any dyno's in your area??

Not that are run very well. There is a mustang somewhere on the east end, but last I heard, you have to let them run the truck on the dyno.

this sounds great as I need my timing advanced after having installed 370's.

cannot find anyone around here that can do it for me. could anyone give me more info?? on directions, contact people ,etc I'm from Minneapolis so Des moines is not too far to go.

The shop is about a mile north of the I35/80 bypass around Des Moines. Hi way 141 is the exit, but not sure of the exit number, will look tonight on the way home. I beleive Alphacowboy is still coming dwon, and he is not far from the cities, so maybe you could convoy down.

Shop number is 515-986-5801, give me a call and I can give you a lot more detailed directions.

Thanks,

Matt

I'd sure like to stop over for this gathering, but I have to work that day. . :{

I have a number of gauges I would have liked to install on my truck, and a few other odd's and ends to hang on it,

but I'll just have to keep an eye out for the next one of these events!

Have a good 'un, I'll be thinkin about all the fun I am missing while I am at work. .

Shawn from Elma told me aabout this event but I have something going on today already. I hope to make it to one of Iowa's get togethers this year and meet some of you guys I see posting on here. Any ideas on the next meet? Also if anybody is in my neighborhood and needs a hand be sure to give me a shout at 563-419-0252... I'm up by Decorah in the northeast corner. Chris

Bummed out about missin wrench day....

Well, I don't have to go to work for a while, but I still won't be able to

make it. Sure wish I could. . got several things I would have liked to add on my truck!

About 3 weeks ago I broke my right leg in a car wreck. Haven't been

in my truck for over 3 weeks now. . suffering bad withdrawl simptoms. .

Maybe next time!

Des Moines wrench day

I just want to thank you very much for doing the timing on my truck today, I Know it took a while for us to work out the bugs. sorry I didn,t say goodbye. I REALIZED HOW LATE IT WAS GETTING. did the second truck go a little easier?? once again I REALLY APPRECIATED YOUR GENEROUSITY.

I went to look at a vibration that I had for a few days before hiting the road for wrenchday, I think about 31/2hrs. drive, and found that every u-joint that was'nt lose last month when I found a bad left axial joint , was lose ,rt. axial joint , constant volosity joints, drive shaft , so I could'nt make it . It seems like they were all origanal , becouse none of them had grease fittings , that makes them good ones becouse the truck has 215,000 miles on the clock , so now I need to find anouther wrench day to try and get back to my to do list . wish I could have made it.

Thanks again to everyone that showed up, and maybe next time to all those that couldn't make it.

Was a busy day, got a little bit of stuff done, and learend a lot.

Will have to do it again, maybe sometime this summer, when people will be ot of the fields, and the wether will be a little warmer.
