wrong oil filter??

I purchased my 95 Ram used a few months ago. Had 95,000 on it. Prev owner said oil was due to be changed,using Rotella. When I removed filter, I saw it was a Fram!! Having heard some negative things about Fram, I went to my local Purolator dealer and asked him to cross ref it. He gave me a Purolator L45335. I installed it a few thousand miles back and have had no problems. Now I read that I should have Purolator L44422!! Wonder what the L45335 fits on. Wonder if has been performing like it shuld. I have had fine oil pressure. I am getting ready to install Amsoil Dual Bypass system. Full flow filter is SDF 26, I think. Anyone used Purolator L40316. It cross ref to the SDF 26. What do you think? It is half the cost of Amsoil SDF 26 . Thanks, all.

The best filter for peace of mind is Fleetguard LF3552. Jeff

On a 95, you should also be able to use a J934430. It's a Fleetguard Stratapore, made up & painted black for Case-IH tractors. If you have a Case-IH dealer in the area, they should have them on the shelf for about $9. 00 or so.

Go with a Fleetguard filter standard or microglass and you can't go wrong. Get them from Geno's for a good price.
