My 2500 dually conversion is dragging me into the poor house.

I bought a used axle from Pro Shaft Driveline in Bakersfield, Ca for $1300.

Supposedly, it was rebuilt. $1200 later, it was and now I've got a dually rear axle for $2500.

I've been to two different alignment shops and one frame shop that specializes. All three are telling me the rear housing is bent- toed in.

Now I either have shop for another complete used axle (needle in a hay stack) or find a housing (also a needle in a hay stack).

Have any of you bought form MoparAmerica or Dodgeparts.com etc etc???

I still have the SRW bed and tires/wheels. Seriously thinking of switching everything back and buying a newer used factory DRW truck.

What a pain in my *****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JHawes,

Check out a company that does heavy truck chassis work. When I was a kid (a LONG time ago), I watched a shop set the alignment of a heavy truck with a solid front axel by actually bending the axel! I would think they could correct your housing's tow-in with a little careful 'unbending'.

I picked up the truck today and have decided to turn it back into a SRW. I'll be listing the parts (axle, hubs, tires, wheel, hub adaptors etc) in the classified's when I get back next week.
