for those who have one, how do you like it? Are they easy to install? Does the numbers read alright? I was thinking with the digital numbers they would be changing all the time where it would be hard to focus on it. Are there any pictures out there that you could show me?

Sorry for all the question I'm getting ready to order mine.

thanks again

Rodney

I just finished the install on my Ram and yes it was easy. I plan to post pics when I get time, should be this Saturday. I will post as soon as possible.

Overall I'm very impressed with this package!

The most impressive feature is not having to run all the wires and boost hose up to the A-pillar, you simply run these through the firewall and connect to a box that you mount up in the area of the pedals. Then run what looks like the line that runs from your phone jack to your phone and plug it in to the X-monitor.

Now I just need to sell a handgun to have enough money to pay for a few mods in the power category.

Did you paint the monitor to match your pillar? Do you have any instruction that I can look at to get an Idea? does it mount a lot faster the the gauges/pod?

I'm ordering the x-monitor from Gomers Diesel out of Missoula Mt.

what's the differance from "Pyro / Boost / Remote Temp" and Pyro / Boost / Trans Temp ?

thanks

Had mine installed by a shop so don't know about installation difficulty.

It is a very clean installation and the guage can easily be painted to match the pillar.

the only difficulties I have notice are that in bright sun it is a little difficult to read the led, especially when wearing sun glasses. Very visable at night. They should have made a small sun screen to put around it. Your hand works but is a distraction.

I have also had occasions when it reads zero on start up/ a restart of the engine has always started with correct temps. There have been a few times when it on its own came to the correct readings. The vendor thinks it is likely a poor ground but I have been traveling and not looked into it.

Anyone have some pics of their xmonitor installed??

There are some posts with pics. Do a search in 3rd generation forums under X-Monitor and you will find them. I will take pics and post asap.

Ibought mine from gomer's diesel for best price. I purchased the pyro/boost/back pressure gauge. Installation was fairly easy, the worst being trying to set the exhaust brake elbow back in place after drilling and tapping for the sensor hose (but even that was not too bad). Seems to be fairly accurate-first thing I had to do was put a clamp on the back pressure hose at the sensor 'cause it blew off the hose. I have yet to paint the pod, but I will when I finish with the add-ons (paint them all at once). I think you will be happy with the gauge. -Eric:)

X-Monitor!

I would like to see one that was mounted on the steering column of the 03 or 04 if anyone has any pics, or comments about that location. Oo.

Cummins-man,

Did you paint the X-monitor to match your interior? Also, did you tap the ECM wire for the trans temp. If so, (anyone can answer) is this the best location to get temp readings.

I am looking at all different gauge options but the X-Monitor has my attention so if any of you "X" owners have some input let me hear it.
