Got them the other night, installed them the next 2 (been busy).

Note: these are UNHEATED, POWER units.

Installation: Very straightforward. The only confusion was me trying to figure out where to route the power wire. The reinforcing bracket that comes with them has a hole in the center just big enough to fit the connector through but requires ripping the foam slightly. The instructions said to feed the wire through the "center hole in the door". Huh?
The driver side top stud hits the back side mirror switch preventing the door panel screw from being reinstalled. Passenger side fit fine.

My tip: remove the door panel, it will try to fall off anyway.

Impressions: They are HUGE compared to the stock mirrors. The looks are rapidly growing on me, wasn't sure I liked tham at first but they do update the appearance a bit. Much more to the scale of my 4x4 dually than the stock mirrors too.
Appears to be a very high quality piece.

Driving: Not as quite as stable as the stock mirrors. They don't vibrate like the stock ones (low amplitude, high frequency) but are sensitive to the bumps in the road. When they do move, they seem to swing on the pivot (they break away in both directions). This might be a problem with mine (see below) as the driver side is more susceptible to it than the passenger side. Sliding them out makes it slightly worse.
NOTE: This is a slight. I can still see everything behind me just fine. It is not even close to the vibration that clip-ons have but it is perceptable.
Also, they don't tip down as far as the stock mirrors. I can barly see below the running light on the dually fender. It is important to me to have the rear truck tires viewable with the power mirrors! This might also be a problem with mine as they sometimes stop in different places when tilting down. They do tilt up quite a ways however. #ad

I contacted the manufacturer (Lucerix) on Thursday. It seems everyone had gone home that could answer my questions. I was in training on Thursday and Friday and couldn't receive calls. I will contact them Monday.

I will update later.

Misc: The next step will be power extension, probably next year.
The lights in the mirrors on the web page are reflectors. They are considering lights in that position, turn signal in the glass (like some Furds have) and a few other variations. This is all in the distant future!

UPDATE:
Talked to a rep at Lucerix. They will be exchanging them for another set. I was told I should have NO trouble seeing the rear tires at ground level.
Also, the instructions are more apt for a '98 as the wires are routed differently. They may update the instructions if I can get some pictures to them. Anybody nearby want to swing by with a digital camera?

Well, here is MY final chapter in the X mount Magna Mirror saga.

I sent them digital pictures showing:
The interference with the power switch.
The stock wiring location (they never looked at a '94).
The view from the driver's seat with the mirrors tilted all the way down.

I returned the mirrors on the 15th of March. I called yesterday, April 6th, to find out what the situation was.

For the switch interference, they changed the driver side upper fastener to a bolt instead of a stud mount. They did switch over all the mirrors thay had that were ready to be shipped. This probably delayed your mirrors. Sorry but now thaey should ALL fit.

When I asked about the max down tilt situation, the person I spoke to (Mark) didn't know about the other concerns I had. (That was Craig. ) I asked him to go check how far down he could see from sitting in the seat. I told him I could only see down to the body line intermittantly and sometimes even less. He called back a short time later (a first) and said he could see the top of the tires. That isn't enough for me, I need to see where the tires are in respect to curbs and things.

I didn't even bother to ask about the movement encountered when driving over bumps as they hadn't addressed the issue of the down tilt.

They still have them. I said I really didn't want them if I can't see where I need to. They said no problem, contact the seller (Specmo-Group Purchase) and tell them to contact Lucerix for everyone to get credited. At least that appears like it will work out OK.

ted - I did hint that I would appreciate a set of heated glass for my trouble, helping them understand the difference in the wiring, borrowing a camera, sending the pictures, patience, etc. Fell on deaf ears.

To sum it up: Most of you guys will love them. They are a quality item and look good on the truck. They just fell a little shy of my requirements. Good Luck and enjoy.

Guess I'll wait to see what is available later this year.

Just installed my new heated X-mount mirrors. My advise for all is to wait till the mfg works out the bugs. While installation is not as "easy as changing a tire", to quote the instruction sheet. The mirrors look great, but...
1. Passenger mirror requires you to cut the mounting studs so as to be able reinstall the door panel.
2. My passenger mirror head does not have a mid-arm position. Hence the mirror head is positioned in the folded down position when driving. If you try to place it in the mid-arm position, it won’t hold, plus in this position you cannot adjust the mirror correctly.
3. If you follow the instructions, you will crush the wiring assembly when you tighten the reinforcement brackets. I snaked my wires down the center of the door. The mfg needs to cut a slot in the bracket.

A good friend of mine just installed a set last week. He said that installation was a breeze and it took less than an hour. He reports that there is no vibration 0-95 when retracted, and no vibration 0-75 when extended (didn't want to run the 5th wheel over 75). I've included the install instructions that he came up with:

X-Mount Mirror Install (power & heated version)

2001. 5 Dodge Ram 3500 4X4
Power Doors and Windows.

Lower windows.
Remove Phillips head screw near front of door, behind mirror
Remove 2 Phillips head screws from door pull
Carefully pull out on upper edge, Pointed part of door panel, you should see a yellow plastic push pin. Remove it. (Carefully pry out near the pin, it will pop out of the trim panel) You will find 2 more down the front side and two more across the top. That is all that I removed (5 total each side), You may be able to reuse some or all of them. The DC part number for these are “6505878AA” Here in Grants Pass they run $1. 10 ea. The Power window switch is attached to the door panel and does not need to be removed.

Now that the hard part is done…

Remove the foam rubber from around the mirror opening, you will see the 3 nuts for removing the mirror. Disconnect the wiring harness to the mirrors. Remove the 3 nuts holding the mirror on. If you drop any down inside the door don’t worry about it, new ones come with the mirrors. (Different size anyway)

Have your buddy hold the mirror in place with the pigtail through the opening in the door. There is a slit in the foam on the backup plate, push the wiring connector through it and mount the backup plate, tighten up the nuts, plug in the wiring harness. Reinstall the push pins in the door panel. Line up with the holes in the door and with your palm pop them into the door, replace the phillips screws and take the truck for a test drive, It will drive much nicer now and your grin will be bigger…

UPDATE:

Not a problem posting my instructions. . Can't figure out why people are having problems, mine must be updated though as the drivers side mirror has the bolt on the top.

They said they were going to change the instructions based on what I told them and the pictures I sent them. I told them to have people route the wire INSIDE the door and NOT through the slit in the backing plate foam! #ad
I told them that the foam had to be torn (at least on the '94-'98) and there is plenty of cable to run it inside the door.

This why I don't have mine any more. After dinking around with them, having them say "we'll call you tomorrow" and them actually calling me back ONCE, I wanted out. They never were able to tell me why they designed the mirrors so you can tip them up far enough to not even see the road or a pop up camper but not down far enough to see where the stock mirrors go. The beauty of all of this is I STILL HAVENT RECEIVED MY MONEY BACK!!!! #ad

Did anybody get the driver side mirror with 2 studs and 1 bolt yet? That was an upgrade they were going to do also. #ad

Glad I have my flip out new 2001 mirrors. although not powered or heated, they don't vibrate at all when flipped out 8" from the door #ad

What Dresslered said to a word.
Only I did not remove the door panel on Pass side. Mine came with a 8. 8 metric bolt for the top left so it would clear the adj controller. I can adj the mirrors to see the entire rear wheel and I have a short bed, looking up all you can see is UFO's. Quality piece.

Electric and heated.
