Stanadynes fuel/water separator

ok they just told me that they ordered the circuit board it should be here tomorrow but they also said that they don't know how hard it would be to put it in so it may take longer than tomorrow i'll try to hook up with the other facility and see what they say

how do you like the new cartridge? I tried to call him today to ask about it, but he is going to be out for a couple days.

i'm pretty sure i was the first guy to get it put in and i'll tell u that it surges and barks excessively just like it did before. I had a fass cavitatioin issue that seemed to help when it was finally cleared up but it's every bit as bad as it was and now he doesn't return my email. I got mad at paul because he issued a sled 66 with a modified housing to a guy up here by me and he said nothing to me. After call and call saying this can't be right and it can't be good for the truck. He said it's ok, then if it's ok why is he always trying to fix it or send new cartridges or prototype new housings on new turbo's to make this problem go away? I wasn't rude but i wasn't nice either. I just told him that as many issues as i have had with it and how i even told him i just want my stock turbo with the 2500 it cost for the new turbo and the install of the 2 cartridges. I can't believe he wouldn't even alert me to the new test that's being run with this modified housing. He even told me he's refund my cash and get me a deal on another turbo. That's great other then the 1K in putting it in 2 times and now having to get her done again if i go that route. I think i can do it now though i've been watching bob and trying to learn some things

I'll have a B1-04 for sale as soon as Piers gets me in for twins if your interested. No surge at all and an easy 45 lbs in a heatbeat. Super nice charger.

Richard

if you have researched the killer b at all on the tdr you would have noticed some had problems with it as soon as the turbo was released. There is also a fix for it. It involves modiying the intake pipe slightly. The surges bothered me also, when I had them. ;)

when i had it for the first month there was no i mean zero surge. Then it slowly did it and kept on until it was worse and worse and unbearable. The new cartridge was good for about a day i babied it and then i was told to hammer it from paul himself. So it took 1 20 lb boost launch and it barked and it hasn't looked back since. Gradually worsening fluttering between 15 and 25 psi sometimes just when i get on the interstate. It's really frustrating. With this new programmer the truck rumbles loud so i can't really hear it as much as before and it has so much power sometimes i just hammer it and let it surge a bit. I don't know it just makes me feel good sometimes. So what's on your mind for the kwik spool b-1

It's not a KS, it a standard housing. The KS housings have too much drive pressure for what were doing to these trucks. I'll shoot you a pm when I get closer to having the twins installed and see if your still looking for something that works good. I'm scheduled with Piers for the last week of January. If all goes well and things are released on time I should be getting a RASP also.

Richard

I would stay away from the KS B-1, as drive pressures are real high. Maybe on a high altitude truck that doesn't have a lot of fuel one would be OK. Personally I like the standard B-1 best followed by the B-1-2. But with either I feel they should be watsegated for best overall performance.

how are you doing jetpilot i heard you had or still have a mean rig. Laser Bob was telling me a bit about it. I had told him that i had asked you a few turbo questions before because you seemed to have a firm grasp of the issue. How many horses you pushing these days.

also the dyno isn't gonna be fixed around here until maybe monday at the earliest. that's a bummer but they said i could have the free running so that's cool. I'm really curious to see. I didn't wanna do the denver dyno place on 52nd because i don't have any before runs there if you know what i mean. I have before runs on both of the ones in ftc so that way no matter which one gets fixed first i'll have a before and after to post.

nah i went to redline today and they said they could do an hp run but no torque and at pfi it's looking like monday but it'll be free so when i go there i'll be sure to get extreme setting, banks off and 3 and 6, then i'll do the performance setting, and banks off 3, and 6. so there will be six different runs that's the best way for me and it's providing the most feedback to the forum members that way i'll still call them tomorrow and see if they got it early

no results but check this out i took a guy who has an 04 with the tst for a cruise today he was up from arizona and he was amazed. He is selling me some kmc wheels and tires so i took him for the spin. He was like holly crap he said it's way more responsive then his unit he coudln't believe it and he said he's getting one right away i was doing a burnout kinda hard with the wett weather but i smoked them big time and when i got out the tires where still spewing white smoke. It was sick the store manager at auto accessories came out and told us to stop scaring the customers. He said he's gonna take apic of me roasting and blowing smoke in front of the store when the wearther gets nice. I can only give u this information right now i hope to have dyno back up and running on monday maybe i'll take a digi pic today of the tires smoking

Can you confirm that this has the ability to set the tires/revs in the computer? And what about loosing any reflashes done at the dealer? Does it actually "download" and save the current program for the stock setting or does it just use one that is pre-canned in the programmer every time you "upload" the stock program?

Also any mpg changes / improvements would be great to know. Is there an "economy" mode?

tire size is a big no sir. I'm sorry to say that there is no way to program it. I am pretty sure that it downloads the stock program however when i put it back to stock there was something a miss and the lights abs and brake stayed illuminated and when i first programmed it they also did that then they shut off. Well it didn't shut off on stock so i put it back to extreme it seems to like that setting best. I spoke again today with dyno folks nowthey are just waiting for the cable they have the circuit board and it's put in i guess they said it may arrive today but i'm not holding my breath.
