Just posting to find out where you guys mounted, and how you mounted your antennas on your trucks. I have a Quad Cab, Short bed, thought of mounting the antenna to the tool box behind the cab, but am afraid of reception, or coughing up another 70 or 80 bucks to crutchfield and getting a truck antenna on a mast or somthing. If you could include pictures, that would be great!!!! Thank you guys!!!

rholcom2, I have a very small roof mount antenna for XM on my truck. It is made by TERK called the XM3 and is 1" tall, 2. 5" wide and 3. 5 " long. Reception with this antenna has been excellent and only costs abut $50 retail but you should be able to find it cheaper. I went with this antenna because it is very small compared to other antennas in the market. They make a bunch of differnt anennas, check out thier site under sirrus and xm antennas; www.terk.com.

I used the same xm3 and ran the cable down behind the trim on the passenger side of the back quad door.

sorry no pictures.

Thank you for your help, but where did you mount this antenna to provide the wire a "channel" or a protective routing. Was it mounted to the glass on the Quad Door? Also, if I do plan to either mount it on the roof and run the wire down through the third brake light and where it is routed, (is this impossible, or difficult enough that it is impossible??), or whould you wiser men have any other ideas?? Thanks

When I had my '00, I ran the cables for the antenna out the center brake light. A little strip caulk for a seal and all was well.
